Mexico Pluma Hidalgo x Familia Garcia Lopez Estate
ABOUT THIS COFFEE
The Pluma variety was one of the original varieties that was brought to Mexico by the Spanish in the 17th Century and has proven to be a clear winner in terms of its ability to produce a quality crop in the unique climate zone of highland Oaxaca Mexico. The Casimiro Gracia Lopez family are generational coffee farmers and hold a 20 acre estate of high quality Pluma Hidalgo coffee trees just outside of San Agustin Loxicha en Aguacate. The Garcia Lopez family operates the largest plantation in the region, owing to their success in producing some of the highest quality coffee in all of Mexico, often scoring 90+ points in cupping.
This Pluma Hidalgo lot is an excellent representation of the quality that the Pluma variety is capable of producing when nurtured by generational farmers. We are excited to offer this forgotten variety and showcase its excellent, complex, characteristics.
