Angel's Reserve x Ethiopia x Kercha Haruse
ABOUT THIS COFFEE
Angel's Reserve is our top-tier, small-batch line, reserved only for coffees that clear an exceptional internal cupping score and arrive in genuinely limited volume. This Ethiopia Kercha Haruse is the first release under that label. It's a dry-processed lot from a single mill near Kercha town, on the border of Uraga in Ethiopia's southern Guji Zone. The mill runs an outgrower program with more than 1,500 smallholder Guji farmers, most working plots under a hectare, at altitudes reaching 2,200 meters. Cherries are laid on raised beds and sun-dried the traditional way, giving the coffee the deep, fruit-driven character dry process Ethiopians are known for.
Our head cupper scored this lot 93 points and we chose to roast it medium on our fluid bed roaster, coaxing out its darker, more decadent side, cedar, dark chocolate, and a honeyed red wine finish, a real departure from the bright citrus and floral cup this coffee shows at lighter roast levels. Because this is an auction-grade lot with strictly limited availability, Angel's Reserve is offered exclusively in 10oz bags.
